I have successfully exported Thunderbird email files on ms outlook 2007 on a Windows XP platform which can also be done in windows vista and windows 7 platform.  There are several steps on how to do it.

1.  First, you need to download and install this software:  IMAPSize
2. Locate your Thunderbird emails, usually it is located in this directory C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Thunderbird  or  you can copy paste the directory and change the user to your account name.  When you are in the application data folder of Thunderbird navigate to the mail folder of the email account you want to convert.  Make sure you make full backup on the mail folder before doing the conversion.
3.  Open IMAPSize software and go to the tools menu and select mbox2eml.
4.  Select the files you want to convert, one example is the inbox.  The inbox file that contains all you emails is the one without the .msf extension.  And this also applies for drafts, sent items and templates. Attachment will be automatically converted and goes with the .eml file

5.  After conversion, open Outlook Express on Vista or Win7 platform you can user Windows Live Mail.  Setup your email account on Outlook express.
6.  Highlight all the emails that was converted by IMAPSize which is in .eml format.  This should should store all the emails in your outlook express account.

6.  For the last part of the process, you can import your outlook express account on MS Outlook 2007.  On the file menu select Import and Export and click next, Select Import form another program or file and click next.  Select Outlook Express 4.x, 5.x, 6.x or windows mail.  This will automatically detect you windows outlook express email accounts and download all the mails.

Today, a friend and a colleague of mine called me and questioned me why she can’t send emails using her mail client which is Incredimail which is one cool mail client because of the effects and animation.  It really bothered me a lot because I can’t solve the problem without being there in the situation and it is hard to explain things using a phone. So I went over to her place and to find out that PLDT changed their SMTP port to 587 which is not the usual port of SMTP.  But this is not only the solution, outgoing mail server should also be changed to smtpdsl4.pldtdsl.net instead of using your own outgoing mail server(mail.icpep.org).

This has become an issue but still PLDT has no action for this.  This is really one problem especially to those people who are not that techie.  Hope PLDT will change it back to the usual port and find other ways on how to solve the spamming issues.

To summarize it, you can configure your mail clients using the following information:

Outgoing mail server SMTP: smtpdsl4.pldtdsl.net
UNCHECK – My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
USE Port: 587

Filezilla is an FTP Client used for transferring files from one host to the other or is used to exchange and manipulate files over a TCP/IP based network.  It is a free software downloadable on their official website filezilla-project.org.  Filezilla is one secure FTP client and so far the best FTP Client I have used.  I already have tried several software before like SmartFTP.  SmartFTP is easy to use but it is not a free software, you need to buy it so you can use it.

Filezilla has a simple user interface and for the first time I used it,  it feels like I have been using the software for a while.

You can store and manage your Websites using Filezilla with their site manager.  When we have a lot of sites to manage and forget the password we tend to search our mails again and look for the password because as what they say that you can not view your password in filezilla.   We’ll you’re wrong, passwords in filezilla can be viewed. If you have saved the login information on the site manager the here are some simple steps on how to view them .  First open filezilla and on the file menu Click Export and you will be prompted with 3 options, you can click the 3 options if you needed them.  But for now you can check the option Export Site Manager Entries.  Go to the directory where you saved the file FileZilla.xml.  Open the file using notepad or wordpad and there you can view your saved passwords.

In the past few months I was into gaming online and one of the famous site today is facebook wherein I am playing games.  Facebook has become popular because it is an interactive site unlike other sites.  Facebook is a Social Networking Site that comes in a package.  It has almost everything that is needed in a Social Networking Site.

One of the mostly played game in Facebook is Farmville.  It is mostly preferred by  facebook users because the images are of good quality, pleasant to the eye and navigation is very easy.  It is updated most of the time and it excites the gamers.  every now and then there is an update like new farmville homes and other stuff.  It has also been categorized well giving the users the ease to navigate the items they want to buy.

Lately, I was bored playing the game because harvesting and planting takes a lot of my time.  So I made an experiment on the farm, thinking of Richie Rich the famous rich young cartoon character or the Harry Potter movie, the “mazed” field came into my mind.  I was thinking to clone their “mazed” yard.  After creating the maze, I had a flash of a genius wherein I realized that when you trap your character it will speed up the process.  The time when the character is walking from one field to the other is saved.

Surfing on the net has been trouble some now a days because there are a lot phishing, fraud, syware, malware, trojans on line. I have been using this free online anti virus scanner for a while now and it has been a good help to me. Apache Tomcat is an implementation of the Java Servlet and JavaServer Pages technologies. But what are servlets? What are JSPs? Servlets are memory-resident Java programs and Tomcat is running inside a servlet container.

Here is a definition from Sun’s servlet site:

“The JavaTM Servlet API provides web developers with a simple, consistent mechanism for extending the functionality of a web server and for accessing existing business systems. A servlet can almost be thought of as an applet that runs on the server side — without a face.”

A definition of JSPs (JavaServer Pages) from Sun’s servlet site:

“JSP technology is an extension of the servlet technology created to support authoring of HTML and XML pages. It makes it easier to combine fixed or static template data with dynamic content.”

JSP can be compared with PHP and ASP, the difference of the three is that PHP uses a C/C++/Java hybrid, ASP uses VBScript, and JSP utilizes the full power of the Java programming language.

In the past few days I was solving a problem on a site and the problem was this; The site has an iframe virus, the site pings teleporn.net and most links redirect to ask.com or teleporn.net which is a banned site, the site was banned  because it installs a virus on your system without knowing it. This problem has bothered me most of the time because I am having a hard time where to fix the teleporn.net redirection. So how did I solve the problem? First thing was that I investigated every file that I have. And there I found out that a script was appended on the PHP and HTML files I have on the server. To have a picture how the script looks like, I have an image below:

So I downloaded all the files on my local computer and I have an avast antivirus which is also cool to use though its annoying sometimes.  Let it scan the downloaded files and everytime it detects the script I just erased the apended script and make sure you don’t just comment the script because it will still be detected as a virus.

I cleaned all the files removing the iframe and the script that was appended.  As I have observed it writes mostly on index.php, index.html, login.php, login.html, auth.php  files.  This was causing the redirection and ping of the teleporn.net site which is a banned site.  Sooner your will be banned as well for linking to the site and this will be a very bad reputation for your site.

How did the ask.com redirection link fixed?  Look at your .htaccess file erase everything that has the code below:

After deleting the code seen above then the link would be fine now.  So that way I solved all of the problems thanks to AVAST anti virus that it helped me a lot in solving the problem.  You should also check some every directory because  there are .htaccess files that are being created with redirection of banned sites.  You can also try using other anti virus that can detect the script that is being appended.  This is is more faster than doing it manually.
