RAMPAGE EXTREME II

- rampage II extreme
How fast is the new product of Asus? It is one of the best motherboard for intel’s Core i7, it beyond expected performance for this motherboard. Asus offers an even more extreme gaming-oriented version of the Asus P6T Deluxe called the Rampage II Extreme, ASUS has released the Republic of Gamers (ROG) Rampage II Extreme high performance enthusiast motherboard. The latest Intel chipset and SLI/CrossFireX on Demand provide support for the new range of Intel processors and multi-GPU technologies such as 3-Way SLI and CrossFireX. The motherboard is designed to be overclocked and to this end features the ROG Extreme Engine, a true multi-phase power management system 16 phases for the CPU and 3 phases each for QPI/DRAM, the Northbridge and memory – with premium Multilayer type Polymer Capacitors (ML Caps) that keep the power supply stable, even under the most demanding loads. Overclocking solutions, TweakIt and ProbeIt enable overclockers to adjust and monitor frequency and voltage settings directly from the motherboard itself. TweakIt enables overclockers to make real-time changes to the system’s core frequency, voltage and other parameters using the joystick-like control on the motherboard itself – even while the benchmark utility is running. At no point does software come into play; the tweaking is completely hardware-based. ProbeIt, on the other hand, distinguishes the motherboard’s measurement points so that users will know exactly where they will be able to get quick yet accurate readings using a multitester. There are eight sets of detection points in total. The ROG Rampage II Extreme also delivers SLI graphics technology on an Intel chipset-based platform. SLI/CrossFireX on Demand provides support for 3-Way SLI, which means that users will be able to install up to three 3-Way SLI-capable graphics cards – although users do still have the flexibility though to run a CrossFireX setup instead of an SLI one. Meanwhile the inclusion of a SupremeFX X-Fi sound card utilises established X-Fi technologies such as CMSS-3D and EAX to deliver multichannel audio.
Intel DX58SO

- Intel core i7 motherboard
Given the Core i7’s performance, DX58SO might have been more appropriate. But at least the board looks like a proper enthusiast offering. It comes draped in a black and blue color scheme that looks pretty good, and Intel hasn’t gone overboard with its little skull logos. The first thing you’ll notice about the DX58SO is its unconventional layout. The DIMM slots have been placed parallel to the top edge, the north bridge chip to the right of the CPU socket, and the processor’s voltage circuitry across the middle of the board. This arrangement is unique among the X58 boards that we’ve seen thus far, and some of it’s quite clever. By now you’ve no doubt noticed that the DX58SO is entirely without heatpipes—a pleasant change of pace given the tangled networks of copper we’ve seen on many enthusiast boards. I don’t expect the lack of plumbing will compromise the board’s ability to cool various components, especially since it won’t be sharing heat between them. Several tests was conducted and the DX58SO’s memory access latency is a couple of nanoseconds quicker than that of the Asus. Perhaps there’s something to Intel’s decision to only run four DIMM slots, after all. This was compared with the ASUS P6T motherboard. The P6T Deluxe bounces back nicely in over all WorldBench than that of the DX58SO. When it comes with gaming Asus is better than intel but both are in a dead heating in some games but Intel delivers a healthy frame rate boost. Intel also has a better power consumption compared with asus. Overclocking is also supported by DX58SO.
Gigabyte EX58-UD4P

- core i7 motherboard
The Gigabyte EX58-UD4P is meant to offer value for Core i7 users, retaining some of the X58 chipset’s most interesting features like 3-way SLI and CrossfireX support, which should come extra handy for gamers willing to burn cash for the ultimate performance. Gigabyte EX58-UD4P is indeed a best performing motherboard for intel Core i7. For more information read more on techspot.
